The aim of CODA is to make it easy to get your stuff onto your screens. You probably have software that you already use to create content, and we don't want to force you to use anything new until you have to! So CODA can display Powerpoint presentations, PDF documents, Web pages, movies, photos, and RSS feeds, to name just a few. You may decide that you wish to reformat these for use on your CODA screen, but at least you can get started using the tools you already know. Below is a list of the supported content types at the time of writing, and more are being added all the time.
There are two ways to get your content onto a CODA screen: |
|
| |
| Most content can be accessed in either way, but that's not always the case, so this table tells you when you need to bear this in mind. |
| Icon | Format type | Access method |
|---|---|---|
| Video files in H.264, MPEG 4*, Ogg, or WMV. | Both link and upload. | |
| Bitmapped images in JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, or TIFF formats | Both link and upload | |
| Web pages | Link only | |
| Powerpoint presentations in both PPT and PPTX format | Upload only | |
| PDF documents | Both link and upload | |
| Flash | Both link and upload | |
| RSS Feeds | Link only | |
| RSS tickertape | Link only | |
| Photocast feeds | Link only | |
| iCal format calendars (for example, from Google Calendar) | Link only |
*In MPEG4 we only support the AAC audio codec, not the Dolby AC3 format
When your content is in CODA, the icon will change to reflect whether you have linked or uploaded your content. You can see the difference here:

| Image icon for a file linked by its URL |
