Getting started

This guide doesn't talk about setting up your hardware - we'll assume that you've plugged in your CODA components, connected them to your displays and to the network, and that things look as if they're working OK.

Now, everything begins at

http://coda.camvine.com

That's where you'll go to login and control your CODA system. You'll use this a lot, so you might want to bookmark it. Note that there's no 'www' there, it's not the same place as the main Camvine website where you're reading this.

CODA uses several up-to-date web technologies, so we recommend using a browser like Firefox, Chrome or Safari if at all possible. If you have to use Internet Explorer, try to use a recent version. Internet Explorer 6 is now very elderly and buggy, and CODA won't work as smoothly with it as with contemporary browsers.

If somebody in your organisation has sent you an invitation to join CODA, you'll have a link in the email which will allow you to sign up and get started, but if you're the brave first pioneer, logging in for the first time, you'll need to start by creating an account. There's a link in the login box which will let you do that, and will then lead you through the steps to create your organisation on the CODA system and to register your CODA hardware. It should be fairly self-explanatory, so we won't cover it here.
